A pop-up bar and 120 seater immersive theatre space on the site of the original Central Saint Martins School of Art on Charing Cross Road
Project objective
The dilapidated arts school was already filled with history and this energy in the crumbling concrete made the space easy to transform in to a speakeasy bar and immersive theatre space.
Neon signs, vintage-style and seating combined with richly patterned wallpaper worked with the gritty, stripped back aesthetic across the six floors in Soho, enticing audiences in to watch raw, magical theatre.

Renovation detail
This semi-derelict site was earmarked for demolition and redevelopment which allowed for only a very narrow set of design and décor changes to be made.
Everything installed had to be temporary and able to be stripped out at 24 hours notice from the theatre seating, to the bar and box office, and production offices and dressing rooms.
